The “Shimoda Ropeway” leads to the summit park of Nesugatayama, one of the three scenic views of Izu. The summit park is adorned with seasonal flowers, and from the observatory, you can overlook Shimoda Port, where the Black Ships arrived, as well as the Izu Seven Islands on clear days offshore. With excellent access, it’s approximately a 1-minute walk from Izukyu “Shimoda Station”. Please do use it when you visit Izu.
