ACAO FOREST is situated on a vast 200,000 tsubo (approx. 165 acres) hilly area overlooking Sagami Bay, dotted with 12 unique themed gardens. With the shining Atami blue sea and sky as a backdrop, seasonal flowers and herbs bloom in profusion, creating a garden that can be enjoyed with all five senses. Inside the park, you’ll find facilities such as the scenic café “COEDA HOUSE” designed by Kengo Kuma, Soga Sengen Shrine, and handicraft experience facilities using herbs and essential oils. *Tickets for persons with disabilities are not sold online. Please present your disability certificate at the ticket counter on-site to purchase.

COEDA HOUSE, located within the garden, is an appealing café featuring a unique stacked-wood structure designed by leading Japanese architect Kengo Kuma, and a design that blends into the garden scenery like a single tree. Enjoy the panoramic view of the horizon from the terrace seats and deck facing the ocean. There are also facilities such as scenic attractions like swings and hammocks, and a herb workshop where you can enjoy handicraft experiences using natural materials such as herbs.
