Excellent ryokan experience for solo traveller It was one of the best stays I’ve had in Japan! Great service and hospitality from the owner and the staff. I arrived in the early afternoon and wanted to catch the bus to the Jogasaki Coast. Never have I thought the owner would drive me there and offered to take me to the mount Omura on the next day. I really appreciate the ride- it absolutely made my travel a lot easier in Izu. The public transportation in Izu is not friendly to solo traveller. The staff told the owner usually offer help only when he is available. If you want this (unofficial) support/service I think it is best to check with the staff before arrival. On top of this, don’t miss out on the traditional breakfast- it was delicious and wholesome. - 1/24/2025
