Ivory and Stone Sculpture Museum ~Jewelpia~
About Ivory and Stone Sculpture Museum ~Jewelpia~
We house art crafts, centering on 100 Eastern ivory sculptures, including the world’s largest jewel screen and jade sculptures. Approximately 270 works are on display. Each of them is of national treasure class. Particularly, the ivory sculptures are said to surpass those at the National Palace Museum in Taiwan. Now that ivory imports are banned by the Washington Convention, this is the only place in the world where such a collection can be seen, making it a precious spot.
The museum and ivory art treasure house in Toi, Izu City, relocated to Higashi Izu, Izu Kogen on September 1, 2014.
The building is a single-story, barrier-free structure, with various innovations such as an attached creation experience corner. The name was also changed to “Ivory and Stone Sculpture Museum ~Jewelpia~”, making it a museum that customers can enjoy even more.
At the experience corner,
you can try:
・Power Stone Bracelet Making Experience
・Gel Candle Making Experience
・Original Suncatcher Making Experience
