I’ve stayed here multiple times with my partner and I even had my family come one time. This place is great, real Japanese hospitality. The owner will pick you up and even offers to take you to places in the area. Food is wonderful and the whole environment is relaxing. Being able to reserve a bath by QR code is very convenient and the big bath is BIG. The small bath is small but cozy. I will continue to come here. Highly recommend.
We would have preferred to stay here longer if we had known how quiet and pleasant it is here. The owner and his family were very friendly, he even drove us around and picked us up. The breakfast was very good and you can use the onsen for free. We recommend.
As many reviews said, with its friendly boss and staff, this hotel allowed us to understand the beauty of Izu~It also makes us look forward to our next stay🤩(If you are walking to the hotel from Izu-Kogen Station, remember to exit through the south exit to avoid being misled by Google Maps. There is a supermarket near the hotel, which is very convenient)
The Hiyoshi family was so welcoming, helpful, knowledgable and kind! Thank you so much for driving me to such beautiful experiences and showing me the illumination and fujisan at shaboten zoo! I booked here purely for the capybara onsen event but everything else I was able to experience was the best cherry on quiet top it was trjly unforgettable and I definitely fell in love with the calm countryside vibe. I had the absolute best time! It was definitely the highlight of my 6 weeks in Japan! The room was beautiful and spacious , the futon was very comfortable and the onsen nearby was so relaxing! I was even able to choose my own clothes there! I will be back in January again 😊Thank you for a really fun weekend! Thank you for taking care of me! I definitely want to go back!
I stayed here in mid-October. It was the best.It was a nice old ryokan, very clean, and the bath was very nice.I felt sorry for myself, but the master picked me up and dropped me off, I ate my mother's home-cooked meals for two days, and the warm customer service from my Taiwanese brother was all amazing.Thanks to you, I have fond memories of my trip to Izu.I would love to stay with you again.
This is a very homely inn, probably run by a family.I used this inn to go see Grand Illumi.At first, I was thinking of using a taxi to get around, but Hinode-ya was kind enough to provide transportation there and back. (I heard later that you can also purchase Grand Illumi tickets through Hinodeya.)On my way back, I was given a ride to and from Izukogen Station, which was very helpful.Thank you very much for letting us use your spacious room.(The toilet and washroom are outside the room, so I think women especially need to be careful about that.)I hope to visit you again when I have a more leisurely stay.
This is a very kind and relaxing inn!When I asked if I wanted to go to Grand Illumi, they arranged everything from tickets to transportation!The bathroom was also clean and spacious! It is available for private use by reservation.They also have a wide range of rental items, including chargers and board games.

Would like to give 10 stars, I know the maximum is 5. It's a clean traditional Japanese style house while you don't need to worry about any language/culture related stuff because everything is prepared in very convenient way. There is a handbook with almost all details you need to know in the house, and it's in multiple languages. All the utilities/notices/signboards are in multiple languages. The rooms are sparkling clean. Restrooms are shared but there are many of them around you, sparkling clean as well. Breakfast is nice. There are 2 onsen rooms which can be reserved and used privately. Free use of yutaka in different sizes. Free flow disposables and towels and hot water. Have laundry and pickup service. Free use of piano, board games and PS5... Will definitely come back next time.
Exceptional stay! We stayed at the hotel for one night. The hotel's prime location near Izu-Kogen train station made exploring a breeze. The host's warm hospitality, offering a convenient pick-up service, was a delightful touch. The Japanese-style room exuded charm and comfort. A truly memorable experience!
I had a lovely relaxing stay for 2 nights at Hinodeya. The staff were very welcoming, the room was great. It’s a small ryokan with about 8 rooms. I paid for ‘half board’ which included breakfast and dinner, which was fabulous both nights/mornings. They also have a self-service coffee and tea bar. The bathrooms are shared, but there are plenty of toilets on both levels and the shared bathing facilities were very clean. They have a great QR code system for booking bathing/onsen so you’ll have it all to your self for 15minutes to a hour (whatever you decide to book). There is a Seven Eleven less than 5 minutes walk for all of your other needs.The staff will happily drive you to the local tourist attractions, you just need to give them a bit of notice. They also pick up and drop off the train station but it’s only about 10 minutes walk if you take the correct exit from the train station (don’t follow Google or Apple Maps!) I couldn’t ask for anything more, happy to recommend!
This beautiful Ryokan is located within walking distance of several museums, small shops and restaurants. If you forget anything, there is a Daiso on the same street! It is in walking distance of public transit and the train station! The owner is a wonderful man who will pick you up and drop you off from some of the further out locations. The baths were amazing and since you book them privately, you can enjoy without any concern. The breakfast I had was amazing both days I was here. I highly recommend staying that this location!
A wonderful guesthouse! We stayed two nights and loved it. It’s a family run business and everyone was very kind and helpful. You can rent electric bikes for ¥1,000 (cheaper than at the station and bigger size). The room was beautiful, spacious and in addition you can use a lounge with massage chair, free tea and water, games etc. We had booked dinner and breakfast and it was excellent! I highly recommend it. They have a really good online reservation system to use the bathrooms with onsen privately. The bathrooms were very clean and nicely decorated. They also had two English speaking staff there and offered to drive us to the station when we arrived and left. The guesthouse is in a great location - not far from the station, museums, cafes, restaurants, etc… and you can cycle quickly to the popular volcanic mountain, the coast, etc.
